Hazy Osterwald Sextett

German bloggers Spreewald recently commenced with a new tradition, making it a point to post a music video each day, improving readers’ morale in the morning – a very nice idea indeed!

Not seen at Spreeblick, this video made my day right now, watching – or better, hearing – this song which has been long lost in my childhood memories. I loved that song dearly!

Unfortunately, I head to learn now that the song has not been composed by Osterwald or his band at first. It was an Italian author who created this masterpiece, which then was in turn updated by the band which became known for it.

Then again, they are neither the first nor the last band recycling existing music, making something great out of it – a traditional musical approach without which our culture would not be what it is today. Q.E.D.:
